Restart a frozen iPad

Although it is rare, iPads can freeze up and nothing seems to respond. Sometimes it cannot be turned off either. Here is how to restart it:

1. Quickly press and release the Volume Up button.
   Do this quickly, like a button tap.
2. Quickly press and release the Volume Down button.
   Again, do a swift tap rather than a press and hold.
3. Press and hold the Power button until the Apple logo appears.
   Hold down the Power button until you see the Apple logo, signaling that your iPad is restarting.

Older iPads with a Home button at the bottom of the screen use the classic combination. Hold both buttons down together until you see the Apple logo on the screen.
